Volunteer Management Toolkit

Download the DofE’s Volunteer Management Toolkit via the eDofE Resource Zone (entry via eDofE). It can be saved to your computer and then printed.

Use the toolkit to read ‘good practice’ information about volunteer management. It is designed to give you more information on:

  • Recruiting volunteers
  • The policies and procedures to support volunteers
  • Application and appointment procedures
  • Induction and training
  • Ongoing volunteer management and support
  • Retaining volunteers.

The toolkit has 23 document templates – each of which covers a different aspect of managing volunteers. You can easily adapt them for use within your own Licensed Organisation. See below for the individual files.

Please note: the DofE accepts no responsibility for use of these templates or guidance.

Volunteer Recruitment

The DofE can help you to advertise for adult volunteers. www.do-it.org.uk  is the national volunteering database and is very popular with potential volunteers. The DofE can give a login for your LO to use and upload adverts for voluntary roles. To request a Do-It.org Volunteering Information Pack for your LO, email [email protected]

Volunteer Policy

The Volunteer Policy for DofE Volunteers can be read here. It outlines the value the DofE places on our volunteers and describes the relationship we aim to develop with them.
